HAIRLINE
RECORD SLEEVE /

University project:

- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Screen-printing

Brief / To create a record sleeve design inspired by a typeface for a speculative band called Surreal Cube, with the album name Hairline. The sleeve reflects the interactive qualities of screen-printing and layers.

Solution / The final solution was inspired by the typeface Bifur which was used to create an abstracted design that utilises layers and overprinting. The concept was to allow the user to interact with the design by changing the inner sleeve colour and direction of the patterns to generate more colours using CMY overlaying. This design was also used on a cassette case and digital artwork which followed the same overlaying style but each unique to the individual product and its different characteristics.
